Product Description
Bring the character of Rajasthan's craft traditions into your living space with this handcrafted bookcase. It combines architectural detailing, artisanal carving, and the warm, weathered beauty of reclaimed-style wood. It is a storage piece that also works as a statement of heritage design.
A crown of carved jali work
The top of the bookcase has two panels of hand-cut jali lattice. Each is a repeating geometric pattern of quatrefoil motifs, inspired by the stone and wood screens of old havelis and palaces. Set beneath a gently moulded cornice, the panels give the piece a refined, architectural finish. They also add depth and a play of light and shadow, so the top of the unit reads as a decorative feature and not just a frame.
Turned columns with classic craftsmanship
Slender, hand-turned pillars run down the front of the unit, dividing it into two symmetrical columns of shelving. The rounded bands and ridges on each pillar recall traditional Indian colonnades and add rhythm and elegance. These columns are both decorative and structural, giving the bookcase its distinctive, grounded presence.
Generous open shelving
Spacious open compartments on the upper and lower sections let you display and organise books, photo frames, pottery, plants, baskets, and collectibles. The open design keeps everything visible and within reach, and the deep, warm wood tones of the interior make displayed objects stand out.
Practical concealed storage
Two drawers sit at the centre of the unit, each fitted with a round black knob. They are a good place for stationery, documents, remotes, or small keepsakes, keeping everyday clutter out of sight while the shelves above and below stay styled. The dark metal knobs contrast nicely with the wood and add a vintage touch.
Rich, weathered finish
The piece has a warm reddish-brown tone with natural variation across its surfaces. Subtle distressing and traces of aged paint give it a lived-in, reclaimed character. No two pieces are exactly alike, so each bookcase has its own grain, patina, and story. A dark, solid plinth base anchors the unit and adds visual weight and stability.
