Design & Craftsmanship
The top shelf is framed by an intricately carved cusped arch, a Mughal-inspired motif. Its scalloped, pierced edge and floral relief work were carved by hand by skilled artisans. Because every piece is hand-carved, each one carries slight variations in pattern and detail, so no two are exactly a like.
Both side pillars are carved from top to bottom with repeating floral rosettes and geometric bands, giving the frame a rhythmic, architectural look. A decorative floral frieze runs across the top panel, under a moulded cornice that gives the unit a classical, temple-like crown. The stepped plinth base adds stability and visual weight.
Finish
The exterior has a hand-applied whitewash finish with a lightly distressed, rustic look. Hints of the natural wood grain show through the white, giving it the soft, lived-in charm of an heirloom piece. The interior keeps a deep natural honey-brown wood tone, so books, décor and collectibles stand out against it.
Storage & Functionality
Three open shelves offer generous space for books, albums, plants, framed photographs, baskets, candles or curios. The arched top shelf makes a natural showcase for a statement vase, idol, lantern or art piece.
