Overview
This hand-carved sliding barn door turns an ordinary doorway into a statement piece. Deeply sculpted floral medallions, scrolling foliage and a richly detailed border cover the full height of the door. The raised motifs are finished in a soft, antiqued silver-white against a warm walnut-brown base. The contrast brings out every petal and curve, and the door looks like a work of art even when it is closed.
Design Details
The central panel is a vertical sequence of three carved medallions. Each medallion has its own pattern: a lotus-style bloom at the centre, flanked by two ornate quatrefoil-inspired motifs. Crossing diagonal bands link the medallions, with leaf and tendril carvings filling the spaces between them. This gives the door a balanced, rhythmic composition that draws the eye from top to bottom.
A deeply relief-carved border frames the panel on both sides. It repeats a trefoil and fleur-inspired pattern, with rosette corner blocks at the top and bottom. The inner raised frame adds depth and shadow play, so the door looks different as the light changes through the day.
Finish and Craftsmanship
Every motif is carved by skilled artisans, so each door carries small variations that machine-made doors cannot match. The finish combines a rich, dark walnut-toned stain with hand-applied whitewash highlights on the raised carvings. The slightly distressed, aged look gives the door a heritage character, as if it were salvaged from an old haveli.
The door is built from [solid wood / reclaimed wood / specify species], with a sturdy frame that supports the heavy relief work without warping.
