Bone Inlay 9-Drawer Slanting Stripe Dresser

Bone Inlay Collection

Bone inlay involves the meticulous craftsmanship of intricately carving bone pieces into small forms, which are then delicately inserted into the surfaces of various objects like furniture and homewares.

This bold nine-drawer chest is a graphic showstopper, with every drawer front covered in hand-laid inlay in crisp black and cream. Fine parallel strips are arranged into interlocking basketweave-style blocks and angled chevrons, bordered by slim striped bands that frame each row. The high-contrast pattern feels sharp and modern, while the painstaking handwork gives the surface a depth and richness that a printed finish could never match.

Three columns of three drawers offer generous, well-organized storage for clothes, linens, and everyday essentials. The outer drawers are fitted with diamond-shaped brass pulls with an engraved center motif, adding a warm metallic glint against the monochrome pattern, while the middle column keeps things subtle with small, pale round knobs that blend quietly into the design. Slim, tapered legs in a polished brass finish lift the chest off the floor, giving it a light, mid-century-inspired stance that balances the intensity of the inlay.

The wide, flat top makes an ideal stage for a leafy plant in a gold planter, a stack of design books, or a sculptural accent. Well suited to a bedroom, dining room, or entryway, this chest brings Art Deco glamour and a global, collected feel to the space. It pairs beautifully with crisp white walls, natural wood floors, warm metallics, and lush greenery for a look that feels striking, polished, and full of personality.
